AI Bot

The AI bot puts a character with a defined personality into your chat. Use an official template or write your own persona; replies consume AI credits.

What it solves

The most awkward thing that happens in a chat room is silence — especially early in a stream before people arrive, or when you're concentrating on the game and can't answer. The AI bot fills that gap: it picks up conversation and responds to new arrivals, so the room looks alive and real viewers find it easier to join in.

Getting started

  1. Enable the AI bot.
  2. Pick a persona from the official templates, or create your own.
  3. Set the trigger conditions and reply frequency.
  4. Check you have AI credits (it stops replying when they run out).

Writing a persona

Only the content field drives behaviour — the other fields don't affect how the AI performs; the name and description are there for you to recognise it. The content field accepts any language, and writing it in the language you're most fluent in gives the best results. The more specific the description, the more consistent the personality.

Common misconceptions

  • The AI account and the ChiwaBots chat bot account are two separate accounts. By default it speaks as the official AI account; using your own is a Pro feature.
  • Give the AI account MOD. MOD bypasses restrictions like followers-only mode and has a higher message rate limit. VIP only bypasses the mode restrictions — the rate limit still applies.
  • For the AI to use channel sub emotes, gift a sub to that AI account. Emote access follows subscriptions exactly as it does for any viewer (syncing can take a moment).
  • Credits are consumed per reply. The more often it replies, the faster they go; when they run out the AI simply goes quiet — no charges are incurred.
  • A template's name and description don't affect behaviour. Renaming it won't change the personality — edit the content field to change how it acts.

Settings

The text below is taken from the in-app help, so it stays in sync with the actual interface.

SettingWhat it does
ContentOnly the Content field drives the AI; other fields don't affect its behavior. Write in the language you're most comfortable with.

Other notes

  • Custom AI accounts are a Pro feature. Upgrade to use your own account or an authorized bot account instead of the official AI account.
  • The AI account is a separate Twitch account (not the chat bot). Granting it MOD is recommended — it bypasses follower-only mode and gets a higher send-rate limit. VIP only bypasses chat modes; the Twitch API send-rate still applies.
  • Gift the AI account a subscription to unlock your channel's subscriber emotes in its replies (syncing may take a moment).
  • Initiate chat on an interval while you're live.
  • Reply when @-mentioned (while live only).
  • Description
  • Logic-driven, a calm and precise driving force behind the scenes.
  • Sharp-tongued but soft-hearted; an occasional vitriolic wit who serves as the soul of the stream.
  • Gentle and inclusive, acting as the warmest harbor for the audience.
  • Mischievous and playful, enjoying nothing more than joining the crowd in creating a stir.
  • Enthusiastic, loyal, and absolutely obedient; suitable for streamers who enjoy being surrounded by passion.
  • Brimming with a sense of hierarchy and arrogance; tailored for audiences who enjoy being looked down upon.
  • High-spirited and unstable, treating the chatroom as a massive experimental site.
  • The most versatile option; the AI takes the initiative to drive the atmosphere and engage in small talk.
  • Ideal for late-night or healing streams; the AI becomes more empathetic and attentive.
  • Targeted at new viewers, encouraging them to follow and participate in the interaction.
  • Cryptic and ethereal; ideal for slow-paced, divination, or healing-themed livestreams.
  • Extremely calm and authoritative; suited for hardcore gaming or channels requiring strict discipline.
  • Professional promotional mode; the AI naturally integrates products and generates engagement.
  • Subtly suggests and expresses gratitude for viewer subscriptions and support without causing annoyance.
  • Reminds viewers to join Discord, Threads, or follow on Instagram.
  • Add-on points bought before 2026-07-29 or migrated from the earlier system. These keep no expiration date; purchases after that date go to period capacity.
  • Capacity is added to the current period and settled with it.
