Auto VIP

Auto VIP grants Twitch VIP automatically based on criteria you define: redeeming a specific reward, hitting a monthly tip or Bits total, gifting enough subs. Expiry is handled for you — no monthly reconciliation by hand.

What it solves

VIP is one of the few statuses you can hand out directly and that viewers actually see. Doing it manually has two failure modes: remembering to grant and remembering to revoke. Once a month you'd have to work out who qualified and whose eligibility lapsed — and the moment you forget, the whole thing loses credibility. Auto VIP encodes the criteria as rules: qualify and it's granted, expire and it's revoked.

Getting started

  1. Enable Auto VIP.
  2. Create criteria from a template, or define your own source, period and duration.
  3. Set the settlement day (which day of the month last month's list is processed).
  4. Optionally set the chat message announcing a grant.

Two kinds of criteria

Immediate criteria (redeeming a specific reward, say) grant the moment they're met. Monthly criteria (a cumulative tip or Bits total) are processed in one pass on the settlement day for the previous month. Both can coexist; meeting any one of them grants VIP.

Common misconceptions

  • Tip-based criteria are semi-automatic. Settlement produces the list of who qualified, but tip records don't always map to a Twitch account — you match them by hand on the settlement tab before the grant happens. That's a limit of the underlying data, not missing automation.
  • Revoke and delete are different actions. Revoke removes Twitch VIP and the record; Delete removes only the record and keeps Twitch VIP. Use the former to actually take VIP away; the latter is for "I want to manage this person's VIP manually from now on".
  • All-zero duration means permanent, not instantly expired.
  • Settlement time is expressed in UTC. The default is 00:30 UTC on the 1st of each month.
  • "Refresh" fills gaps in the list; it doesn't re-grant. It reads the current VIP list back from Twitch and adds people the system didn't have on record (someone you granted manually, for instance).

Settings

The text below is taken from the in-app help, so it stays in sync with the actual interface.

SettingWhat it does
EditWhen all are 0, the remaining time is permanent.
RefreshRe-read Twitch VIPs and fill in missing entries.
No conditions yetStart from a template or build your own. Viewers who qualify get VIP automatically.
CustomStart blank and combine source, cycle and duration freely.
No settlement conditionsAdd a "monthly settlement" condition (e.g. tips, lifetime) on the Conditions tab to see settlements and mappings here.

Other notes

  • Viewers who redeem the named channel-points reward are granted VIP automatically.
  • Revoke = remove Twitch VIP + record. Delete = remove record only (keeps Twitch VIP).
  • Day of the month last month's settlement list is granted (00:30 UTC = 08:30 Taipei). Default: the 1st.
  • Sent in chat when any condition grants VIP. Use {label} for the condition name.
  • Tips are semi-automatic: settlement produces a qualifying list; map each to a Twitch account on the Settlement tab to grant.
  • The settlement period is always the full calendar month starting on the 1st; grants are issued at 00:30 UTC on the monthly settlement day configured in the General tab.
  • Attributed by login; no manual mapping needed
  • Only settles periods that haven't been settled yet. Already-settled periods are skipped automatically — VIP will not be granted twice.
